The Deathly Hallows Pendant with Harry Potter

The Deathly Hallows Pendant which was mentioned in the Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows movie.
The sign on the pendant unites three gifts of Death: Elder wand, a resurrection stone and invisibility cloak.
Harry Potter learns about the designation of such a pendant from Xenophilius Lovegood, he tells Harry a fairy tale about three brothers and three gifts of Death.

This will be a great gift for fans of the film. Although I do not even know the history of this column, it is very original.

Here is the text of the tale itself:
Once upon a time there were three brothers, and then one day they went to travel. They walked in the twilight a long journey and came to the river. It was deep – ford not to go, and so fast that swimming did not cross. But the brothers were well versed in the magical arts. They waved their magic wands – and a bridge grew over the river. The brothers were already in the middle of the bridge, when they suddenly saw someone standing in the middle of the road, wrapped in a raincoat.

And Death spoke to them. She was very angry that the three victims had escaped her, because the travelers usually drowned in the river. But Death was cunning. She pretended to be admired by the brothers ’skill and invited each one to choose an award for outwitting her.

And now the elder brother, a warlike man, asked for the magic wand, the most powerful in the world, for its owner to always win in a duel. Such a magic wand is worthy of a man who has conquered Death itself! Then Death broke off a branch from an elderberry bush that grew nearby, made a magic wand out of it and gave it to her older brother.

The second brother was proud. He wanted to humiliate Death even more and demanded the power from her to cause the dead. Death picked up a pebble that lay on the shore, and gave it to his middle brother. This stone, she said, has the power to return the dead.

She asked her younger brother’s death what he wanted. The youngest was the most modest and wisest of the three, and he did not trust Death, and therefore asked to give him such a thing so that he could leave there and Death would not overtake him. Death was displeased, but nothing could be done – she gave him her invisibility cloak.

Then Death retreated and let the three brothers cross the bridge. They went further on their way and interpreted everything among themselves about this adventure and admired the wonderful things that gave Death.

How long, or short, did the brothers each go their separate ways.

The first brother traveled for a week, and maybe more, and came to one distant village.

He found there a wizard, with whom he was in a quarrel. The duel went out for them, and, of course, the elder brother won – and how could it be otherwise when he had an elder wand in his hands? The enemy remained lying dead on the ground, and the elder brother went to the inn and there let’s brag about what miracle wand he had got from Death itself – with her no one would defeat him in battle.

That same night, one wizard made his way to his elder brother when he lay and snored, drunk, on his bed. The thief took a magic wand, and at the same time cut the elder brother’s throat.

So Death took the first brother.

Meanwhile, the middle brother returned to his home, and he lived alone. He took a stone that could cause the dead, and turned it in his hand three times. What a miracle – standing in front of him a girl whom he wanted to marry, but only she died an early death.

But she was sad and cold, as if some kind of curtain separated her from her middle brother. Even though she returned to the sublunary world, there was no place for her here, and she suffered bitterly. In the end, the middle brother went crazy with hopeless longing and killed himself, just to be with his beloved.

So Death took the second brother.

The third brother was looking for Death for many years, but never found. And when the younger brother got old, he took off his invisibility cloak and gave it to his son. He met Death as a long-time friend and with his desire went with her, and as equals they left this world.
